how to make gru-another awesome tutorial from the cow

so you wanna make gru huh?

well he is very easy

this is what you will need

owl punch, xl oval punch, word bubble framelits

card stock is black, white, cantaloupe, slate and blush blossom (r)

if you don't have blush blossom then use blushing bride instead.

you will also need a small oval punch 

(which i forgot to put on here lol)

-i used a retired one but try the current large oval and trim if need be.

grey strips are approx 16cm x 11/2cm

-you may only need one but have a second just in case.

 cut a bit off a circle and stick on side for ear

make an eye with circles

then make an eyebrow with cresecent and circle

 stick all together to make eye

draw in features with black marker

 

cut his finger out of the owl punch by using the waistcoat and then punching an edge off the side

 add to waistcoat piece

turn around and draw in fingers 

 take half a black waistcoat and add as arm.

 you may need to trim a bit off to make it look right like i did!

add to hand

 

punch arm out of black same way as finger but make it thicker

 add to hand piece

 yay! head and hand ready to go :)

 stick to xl black oval

 scarf

first one i made using retired su ribbon (top) 

so thought i had better show you how to do it with card stock instead. 

i must admit i prefer the ribbon 

as it drapes easier 

to do the scarf i drew black stripes all the way along the grey strip

cut at 6cm, 5cm and 41/2cm approx

-these are easy to trim so don't stress about accuracy here

 put the longest one on first 

 then middle one and fold over the edges

 see...like this

 then kinda wedge the smallest one in behind his head but over his arm

hiding any dodgey punch art from the arm bit :)

 see...like this!

 then add in your oval.

here is gru next to the first one

i seem to ahve given him a longer finger in the second one!!!

moon is next

cut a large circle out of some sticky note

i used the inside of some dst 

 stick it onto some whisper white and egt your inner zindorf going by brayering some blues goingfrom light to dark

i used tempting turquoise

 pacific point

 night of navy

 eggplant

 took the mask off and added little circles to the moon

1/2" circle punch

then sponged shara sand over them

tada! 

 then put little circles on

1/2" and 3/8"

and sponged basic grey on

 voila!

then stick gru on!

to finish it off i stuck thin silver strips all around edge and mounted it onto black card stock.

the sentiment i made from word and attached a small heart from the owl punch to it
