bliss

i don't generally do clean and simple
i am more of a crazy and colourful kinda chick
so when i saw the challenge at casology this week
involving the TROPICAL theme
i had to do a picture that has been
playing around in my head for awhile

so here is my idea-still not quite right but this can be a work in progress-a beginning of an idea
i have been playing around with the smooshing technique
-basically put i splodged ink all over my glass cutting mat,
spritzed with water,
jiggled with the ink to make them all run nicely together
and then plonked a piece of paper on top of it.
simple really and a very cool random technique

my girl's dress was made using the bow tie punch
hat with an oval
hair and arms with the bird punch
waves were just randomly torn out of dsp
sentiment done with the rotary stamp

welcome from Keryn Campbell's blog

i am showing off the new bow tie punch in the new catalogue as well as the painted petals stamp set
here are my creations!!!

if you know me you will know that when i get a new punch i have to try it out and see what else it does apart from the obvious...i mean why get a bow tie punch and ONLY use it for bow ties right??!??
first card is a fairy card.
i used the bow tie punch for the fairy body, wings, mushroom bottom, fairy arms and legs and crown.
background is done with the painted petals stamp set
inside i kept the same theme going with the stamps

this card is a cute little (albeit a bit weird lol), pukeko-a native new zealand bird that is just the most silliest but most awesome bird there is.
here it is made from the bow tie punch with painted petals in the background.
i also brought out my fringe scissors for the grass and the bird punch for the shrubs.
inside i have stamped with painted petals and a sentiment

here is another card using the bow tie punch as a fox.
the background was brayered and the christmas tree punch was used for the trees
inside i have repeated the sentiment and added another tree and moon
another card using the painted petals stamp set.
this is a panorama card
for a tutorial on how to make a panorama card go here
i added a fish to mine to make a fish bowl with the painted petals as the background

hope you feel inspired to use your bow tie punch in lots of different ways

next on the hop is
