so it was friday night and hubby was out and the kids were watching a movie in the lounge so i managed to get a hour to myself-woohoo!!! so i got out some photos and checked out the sketch challenges on the web to get some inspiration.

lo and behold just add ink has one this week perfect for my 3 photos

 i used buttons and wool for some embellishments

i black embossed my die cut letters for my heading

choo choo...a first birthday gift coming through!

our little friend dante had his first birthday and i wanted to make him something a bit special i had a kaisercraft train hiding in my stash for a while now wanting me to transfor it so a first birthday present was a great idea for it

i have used a retired SU paper called jersey shore which i loved for its bright bold colours...

inside i have added loads of buttons and some chipboard

i made the train wheels using a combination of punched out circles and buttons. the edges of the train were drawn around with white gel pen after some black ink was sponged on to hide my dodgey trimming lol i have used a combination of stickers and punched out stars here as well.

on the back page i left spaces for his mum to fill in on some of dante's firsts if she can remember lmao!

cupcakes...yummmmmmmm

don't you just love cupcakes?

i do especially when they are all pretty and delicous looking sometimes i don't actually want to eat them...i just want to appreciate the art in them because lets face it they are the barbie of the cake industry-all pretty and sweet the muffin is the tradie-tasty and rugged the scone is the accountant-sensible and practical my friend kris is the cupcake queen she makes the most delcious cup ckaes and i am making in desperation for her to open her cupcakes and craft shop here in campbelltown she also celebrated her birthday and i wanted to give her something special so here we go a cupcake recipe book in the shape of a cupcake of course!!! i had to add pages to the kaisercraft chip board one as i had so many recipes. just use one of the baords as a template and cut it out-easy! i added supernova glitter via a 2-way glue pen a girl's gotta have glitter i punched holes into the frosting of the cupcake and added ribbons to it send me a copy of your favourite cupcake recipe to recieve some blog candy!! cheers ears

something for baby

a really good friend is about to have her baby and she doesn't know what flavour it is going to be so i have made this baby album for her i used a kaisercraft floral tags album as the base. i painted the chipboard with stampin up inks -tempting turquoise, real red, yoyo yellow and green galore iadded buttons with mini glue dots and added a heidiswap sticker thingie lol. i stuck the metal edge tags down as photo frames again used the metal edge tags and the felt flowers top view falling over on my side view lol front view check out the very cute button chicken i have hoarding in my stash for ages and finally found a use for it. i hope she likes it

advent calendar

after much faffing about and this project taking waaay longer than it should have because i procrastinated too much with it and did little bits every now and then i have finally finally finished just in time to actually use it-woot!!! I bought my kaisercraft advent calendar from Alice in paperland a w hile back in october i think and i sat on my shelf beckoning me for a month. here is funnyface the cat modelling it for me. i have used the stampin up 'i wish' simply scrapbooking kit combined with the beautiful ski slope paper from the spring mini catalogue. the letters i daubered with ink and the paper was attached to the boxes with dst. i also stuck two of the stickers from the ssk together, added some beads and then hung it from the top with a glue dot. after watching niamh twirl it around this afternoon i know it is stuck on nice and tight lol here is some detail from the middle. i put down a piece of ski slope paper and then stuck down some stars from the ssk. i added a beautiful piece of chipboard in the shape of a snow flake which i glittered to bitshere is some detail of soem of the boxes. i tried to keep them relatively simple as combined they all make quite a nice effect...and also i honestly did not have the time lmao cheers ears
