luscious lady

here is my luscious lady for this weeks challenge over at just add ink
the challenge this week was all about colour
and for the challenge at simon says
who wanted a special lady

my lady was made using a couple of large circles for the dress, arms, face and hair.
her sunnies were double punched from smaller circles
lips from a label punch with a circle

the pattern on the dress is from
the printed petals stamp set
the dress is what we call a "design feature"
aka a stuff-up lol
i was trying to do some water colouring-spritzing the water colur paper and then stamping the image on to get a watercolour effect...well...it was working just fine until a small child bumped into me and made me drop the stamp wrongly...lololol...so rather than bin it i decided to use it for other things...keep watching over the next few days to see what else i made with my "design features" and the real thing...

a pretty lady

using wisteria wonder, peach parfait, cool caribbean, and certain celery.

when i saw those colours i knew i had to make this lady
that had been rummaging around in my crafty brain lol

she was made with the following
xl oval-arms, hat
11/4" circle-face, stomach, hat
bow builder-bow
itty bitty flower-flowers
owl-eyes
heart-bust
scalloped oval-hair
tasteful trim-dress trim

now you peeps with the sharp eyes will probably go
oh my..she hasn't used the right colours!!!
and you would be right :)
i didn't have all those colours so used as close as i had
and here is the inside.
this is going to an inky friend of mine who is celebrating her birthday this month

how to make a neck for a person using punch art the crafty cow way:>

another scintillating tutorial from me
this time about necks
stand back!!!
the excitement may be too much for you lmao
take some skin coloured card scrap
approx 4cm wide
depending on your person and type of neck get a circle punch
i tend to use the 1" one the most
mainly because it fits the dress up framelit really well
punch a half circle out of one side about 2cm from the bottom of your card
then turn it around and try and punch a half circle out
around about the same spot but opposite to your other one.
don't stress.
it is not an exact science ;>
it may or may not look like this.
if you want a skinnier neck then punch a little more.
fat necks need more space between the punches

here is the neck attached to body
trim the bits otherwise she will look like an elf or spock
but then maybe that is the look you are after, if so, leave it lol

ginga punch art

i love red heads
we call them gingas here in australia
ginger ninjas lol
here is my own special red head
take a scallop circle punch and punch out 3/4  longways
see photo
you need to have a flat bit left
now attach a bit of sticky note to it so you don't have to faff about trying to get it in the right place back in your punch.
trust me
you sooo don't want to go there
frustrating is an understatement
take a label punch and slide that punched out bit in so it is just peeking out from underneath
then WALLOP PUNCH it out!

you will be left with a lovely fringe for your hair
should you want a side part just move the piece over a bit
add a head band using a circle punch and a flower
add eyes and cute mouth and you are all ready to go

pop up box card

a good friend turned 50 this week so i made her a very special card
this is a pop up box card.
a tutorial for it can be found here
the card needs a belly band on it
this is the card closed
i used the retro fresh dsp, sketched birthday stamp set and the retro and water colour washi tape

 inside the card!
two fab chicks-one with bubbles and one with a present
cake and presents
front flap
i cut the small arrows from the retro dsp and covered with crystal effects
 right flap
cut out the balloons (yes those strings did nearly drive nutso) and had them layered
see the layers?
 left flap
cut the cake out in 3 layers and added them.
the candle was fun to cut :> and i have added dazzling effects to that
see the layers?!
 back flap
stamp with scallop punch with ribbons and washi tape and some pearl thing i have had in my stash forever
 front layer
cake-cupcake punch
presents-squares with ribbon and string tied on to them
bubbley lady-dress die cut, arms made from butterfly punch, head-ornament punch
 present lady
scallop oval for hair, arms-butterfly punch

i hope she loves it as much as i do. i want to keep it now it is finally finished lol
