owl garden ornaments

owls are cool

up there with bow ties and fish fingers and custard in my opinion

here are some garden ornaments i cased from a fellow stampin up demo who made some as convention swaps and i was totally inspired by her.
if it is you or you know who i am talking about so i can acknowledge her please as i have lost her details

these owls are super easy to make.
the hardest part is going to your local hardware shop and buying the aluminium flashing and wire.
the aluminium flashing is the thinnest you can buy and it goes through your big shot easy.
you also punch with it but you may need a bit more brute force
(plus side is you will end up with nice sharp punches lol)
to make them you need:
scallop circle die-wings (cut into 1/4's for wings)
framelits labels-body
top note die-head (cut in half to make 2 heads)
1/4", 1", 3/4" circle punches-eyes
pennant punch-beak
blossom punch-feet (cut out each petal-2 petals make the feet)
i also embossed some bits to add colour-this part may or may not drive you to wine or swearing depending on how patient you are. i also found the embossing powder was not glue friendly and came off easy. maybe a different glue could be used-i used hot glue.
i also used **cough cough** non-su embossing folders to add texture to the wings.
i used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole at the top of the head to attach the wire

these guys are now happy inhabitants of my garden : >

cheers ears
