masking 101

at our sale-a-bration spectacular everyone
was given the opportunity to try masking with my make and take.

i gave a simple easy peasy instructions for people to follow.

and here it is!

Stamp the image you want where you want with the colours you want.
position any extra bits and peices with a Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Cut (or punch in this case! gotta love that butterfly punch!!)
an exact image out and stick over top using repositionable glue i.e. dotto.
A post it note which works just as well.

Stamp over the covered up image (or roll in this case) as evenly as possible.

Peel off the mask to reveal your coloured image underneath.
hey presto! el-coolo image-o!!!

hope that ehlps you

cheers ears!

ballerina tutorial

woohoo here we go

punch out 2 scallop circles from card stock vellum.
cut along the dips in the scallops into the middle but NOT right through
(or her tutu will fall apart and she will be left standing in her undies lol)

glue together
(after you have fluffed them up a bit)
to the lavendar lace scallop circle card.get 2 word window legs and the squat heart.

cut the heart down the middle

glue onto the legs
attach to back of tutu and arrange your legs how you want your ballerina to pose
get bits for head
use circle punch to cut out fringe from butterfly image

stick blush blossom circle to bottom of choc chip circle. add fringe.add crescent and tiny heart to make tiara.
add small choc chip circle to make bun at back of head

get the rest of the word windows and long heart

stick arms onto heart first then neck.
then stick head down.
then add dimensionals

it should look like this.
if you want your ballerina to have some more cleavage
then move the ends of the word windows closer in
and you will get a bit of boobie cleavage happening lol

it should look like this when all stuck together
if you are not making the mutant kind hahahaha
finally get out some pens
and draw in a face and some ballet strings so her shoes don't fall off

phew!

there we go

easy peasy

i now expect to see ballerinas all over the place now.
if you make one please send us a link or a photo of your attempt
so i can go "oh wow that is awesome"

okies cheers ears

i have been punching some ballerinas

well not real ones
just the paper kind

of course.....

back to the topic at hand and it is all about ballerinas.
I made some a while ago
and have had a bit more of a play since then.
I got everyone to make some at our Sale-a-bration charity fundraiser last weekend.
Hi if you are checking me out from that-please say hi!!
Here is the punch sheet from that showing what bits of each punch you needed in each colour. I hope that made it easy for everyone...well no one had mutant looking ballerinas so it must have been ok hahahahaha
I have used Lavendar lace, blush blossom, Chocolate chip and vellum card stock.
and just so you know the love hearts are wrong wrong wrong. i cut out the wrong one-you need to cut out the squat one for the shoes and the longer one for the body
I will get around to changing it i promise

and here are the punches you needed
(which you can, of course, buy them all from me because you know you totally NEED them all right now)

please say hi and let me know how your ballerinas went

advent calendar

after much faffing about and this project taking waaay longer than it should have because i procrastinated too much with it and did little bits every now and then i have finally finally finished just in time to actually use it-woot!!!

I bought my kaisercraft advent calendar from Alice in paperland a w hile back in october i think and i sat on my shelf beckoning me for a month.
here is funnyface the cat modelling it for me. i have used the stampin up 'i wish' simply scrapbooking kit combined with the beautiful ski slope paper from the spring mini catalogue.

the letters i daubered with ink and the paper was attached to the boxes with dst. i also stuck two of the stickers from the ssk together, added some beads and then hung it from the top with a glue dot. after watching niamh twirl it around this afternoon i know it is stuck on nice and tight lol

here is some detail from the middle.
i put down a piece of ski slope paper and then stuck down some stars from the ssk.
i added a beautiful piece of chipboard in the shape of a snow flake which i glittered to bitshere is some detail of soem of the boxes.
i tried to keep them relatively simple as combined they all make quite a nice effect...and also i honestly did not have the time lmao

all aboriginal again

some more i have done today....

i love the way i can combine different textures and hues to this stamp set.

Here i versamarked onto the choc chip and added some wool. the lizards have a tiny bit of white gel pen added to highlight them a bit

the background is done with a cuttlebug and i added some shiny bronze string.

the crinkly paper on this card is thanks to my 2 year old. i let her play with mummy's stamps whilst i created. she put all sorts onto a scrap paper that i then used here. i also used my jumbo eyelets which i have not used yet and added some leather to tie on to it.

all aboriginal

this week i have been playing with a set i don't own but have borrowed from my local women's centre. Their local aboriginal women's group had purchased the All Aboriginal stamp set from me and wanted some inspiration on how to use it. It is an awesome set to use and gives you plenty of scope to play with colours and textures and tones with a totally Australian feel. I think it is perfect for making cards to send overseas and if you are at the local craft markets and want to target tourists who want local hand made crafts.

These book marks were made from some basic black card stock with some white embossing done with seeing spots and polka dot punches. Then i daubered some earth elements ink all over the stamp, did a "huff" and stamped it down onto very vanilla. then carefully with our fabulous scissors i cut them out. I added some matching ribbon to tie it all together.

my dream card involves a lot of colour. i daubered earth element colours onto some gloss white and then added some seeing spots in white embossing. my kangaroo is coloured to match the card stock i used. i have drawn dots around the outside and written dream as i could not find dream on any of the stamp sets i own lol.

this snake one was inspired by a faux reptile skin demo i saw at SU regionals done. i didn't have any paper towels so used my cuttle bug embossing folder to do the same thing. i added some crstal effects to make it shiny though rather than clear embossing powder as i had added some to the snakes already and after dropping a splodge of it onto the paper by mistake i though "oh heck may as well keep going" lol!!! i have also tied a bit of twine to the edge and added some brads

my lizard is fairly simple. i just used the browns in the earth elements range to colour my lizard and then i added some crystal effects to make it shiney. however whilst ti dried over night i woke this mornign to see one of my delightful children had added some special touches to it with a water colour pen....sigh.... thankfully it was not bright pixie pink but a soothing sky blue hahahaha and i think it now compliments the card nicely. i used my cutting tool to do the wiggly bit on the side. i had to use thin sharpie to do the black dots as our basic black marker kept smudging on the copper card.

feeling inspired to buy this stamp set now? feel free to contact me to purchase it for $30 only when you book a demo with me.

now here are some photos of some swaps that caught my eye...

beth (http://www.elisabethstewart.com/) did a demo on the circle scissors and here are some of the ebautiful cards she showed us

punch art for regionals

stampin up regionals is this saturday and these are the swaps i have made.

my hula lady i have to admit is not my idea-i got inspired by this ladyhttp://prettyinky.blogspot.com/2009/05/luau-lady.html.
mine is a bit more basic as i have to make 12 of them lol.
to get the clouds at the back i have used a scallop circle punch and a dauber with some baja breeeze on it.
i also have to admit that i have added some extra bling to them after i took the photo lol and now the sun is sparkley too.

here is my other one. she is a take off from the top one. i am not quite happy with the tail but i am guessing i will just have to buy the 5-petal flower punch to get a better tail...hmmm.
the back ground is done with the so swirly jumbo roller in baja breeze and pacific point

this one is my baby version. the back ground is made from a spot on jumbo roller. the ribbon is white taffeta that i have coloured with pixie pink ink with a blender pen. i have also added a safety pin cos we use cloth nappies here lol
here they all are together. hopefully i will be able to swap them for soem awesome stuff.
