inspired by inside out

my kids have been at me for a while now
to recreate the characters from the
inside out movie as cards
so seeing i am on much needed school holidays i have had time to sit down,
chill out and
get creative with my punches

let me first say these characters were not easy to do.
and i had to use my punches in weird and wonderful ways
hence no instructions or tutorial sorry but will try and give you some of the stampin up  punches i used to give you an idea

little letters thinlits except for anger
-his i did freehand
(oh i wish there were thinlits for those symbols!!)

disgust had sticky out glittered eyelashes and her mouth was super dooper tricky
the joy card also had joy from the berry merry stamp set in the background
sadness' glasses were done by punching 1" circle first then the 11/4" circle around it.
anger's fingers were done with a scallop oval punch

enjoy
share
and if i have inspired you to make your own please share a link so i can see where ti took you and if you have any hints for me making them a second time around

la la loopsey

my girls love lala loopsey
i don't quite know why
but meh
they probably feel the same about my love of watching the news each night lol
here is some loopsey fun from this week made for a special birthday girl

to make her face i used a 11/4" circle punch for her hair and face.
owl punch for the hair bows
cupcake punch for dots on bows, eyes, and cheeks
here's a close up of her face
then i put it on a card-nice and simple
i got the sketch idea from retro sketches
i also made a special box for her present to go into that matched the card.
i recycled an old su button container
just stuck sticky strip all over it and added ribbon and dsp to it and a suede flower
my little "helper" with her punch art horse she made
i also made a little hand bag for the rest of the present to match the card and container
i made a door name plaque out of polymer clay
i made some matching earrings as well
 here is the matching necklace
and the whole set of present-name plaque, earrings and necklace

hoot the owl

ok
confession time
i actually used my owl punch for it's intended purpose today.
it has been a while since i have made an owl from my owl punch lol
this was a custom order for a someone special's birthday

a simple hoot banner with a large hoot and 2 smaller hoots.

i also made some birthday cards as well seeing i may have gotten a bit carried away making mini hoots lol.

i know giggle and hoot are a favourite with our littlies at home....in fact some little person was a bit sad SHE wasn't the recipient of the hoot banner (reminder to self for 5th birthday plans)

crafty cow is always happy to make custom orders up. just send in your request and i will give you a quote

maisy the mouse

i have a three year old who loves loves LOVES maisy the mouse
not sure who she is?
she is so cute
just like my three year old

so my mission was to make maisy for miss 3

the tricky bit was getting the head the right shape. a triangle was too pointy so i used a large scallop circle to get the shape i needed. i also used an oval to get the rounded bit at the back
the rest of the card is easy :>
large scallop circle die for skirt and ears
square for body and arms
modern label punch for hands, feet and legs
scallop oval for lacey bits on sleeves and neckline
owl punch for hearts and eyes
1 1/4" circle punch for the balloon
1/2" circle for her nose
tail was done by cutting around the edge of a cut-out oval

a great big shout out to the people who have come from the southern girls blogspot challenge-it is lovely to have a few new people checking out my punch art :> this card was done with their challenge in mind-it was die cuts and punch art!!! they must have known i was making something punchy today :>

angry birds birthday invitations

my son's latest 'thing' is angry birds.
it is a strangely satisfying game that can become quite addictive...not that i am or anything....<<sheepish look>>
go here if you want to know what i am talking about :>

anyways it is his birthday next month so we have started the party planning that is his birthday
he wants an angry birds party
(please note it was going to be a lego party but he luckily changed his mind JUST before i started making his invites lol)

this is what he got
i used several punches and added a paper clip to the back so it would attach to the fridge.
now i took ages fiddling around with punches to get this guy
and then lo and behold after i had made him i found this
so go and support kylie for the instructions as i wont be posting them up-ok?
i did use the inviting stamp set for the invite.
the clear stamp of these is definately the way to go as you can add all the elements you want onto the clear block and put them where you want
now all i have to do is make the cake...sigh...
you should see what he has in store for me rofl

home made easter crayons

this was super dooper easy!

i pilfered all the broken and dodgey crayons from my kids pencil box and sorted them into colours into a muffin tin

then i put the crayons of the same colour into a plastic bag and smashed them into teeny tiny bits with a hammer!!!
now most tutorials i have read about making these crayons say to use a knife and cut them into pea sized shapes-please please don't do it to yourself!! it will drive you mental and destroy a perfectly good knife :>
my way is far more therapeutic and the kids can do it too :>
then put the bits into moulds of your choice-enough so they are not quite over flowing-does that make sense?
i grabbed some $2 easter egg silicone moulds and used them for this project but i must admit i am eyeing up my santa claus ice cube trays for xmas ones :>
place in your oven in a pyrex dish or metal tray that is about the size of your moulds. heat the oven to about 150c and leave in for between 10-15 mins. when you take them out give them a bit of a stir with a tooth pick or something similar to stir them up a bit. then place them, tray and all, into the freezer for about 10 mins.

after 10 mins take them out and they should be hard enough to pop out and look like these. if they crack or break just place them back into the mould and re-melt them :>
how cool is that?!

upsy daisy...but not the stamp set!!!!!

i have a 2 year old who is obsessed with the tv programme called in the night garden her favourite character is upsy daisy i have checking out her dolly for a long time and being the punchy person that i am i have been figuring out what punches to use and where(Oh how sad am i??lol) i finally got around to making her this week and this is what i came up with
almost all the colours are stampin up although some of the colours are now retired sob sob. even the red-i made that with some bright red brayered over some only orange as i wanted a really bright bright bright red!!!! i then thought i had better put her with a card added a sentiment and some stars and the obligatory peice of ribbon
a close up shot to see i have used the flowers from petal pizazz on her top and the star from playful peices i also made her hair a bit bendier
her garden has flowers from trio flower punch and boho punch
now i am sure you will all want a tutorial and to be honest there are not enough hours in the day at the moment but i have taken a photo of all the shapes i used before i stuck them all together if that helps you punch crazy people out there lol let me know how you get on and please please share if you get the chance to make any of the other characters from the night garden as i would love to make them too for her cheers ears!
