thanks

i belong to a monthly swap
and this month we had a sketch to follow
we also had some "given" objects the leader of the swap
had sent to us that we had to use on our cards.
i got fabric-some with lines on it and some with apples.
here is my swap

i used the stamped images from thankful forest friends in front of an embossed tree image
the apple fabric i cut out the images and sued them whilst the striped material was used for a banner strip on the side with a bit of lace added to it.
i made an extra card with the leftover scraps and the other sentiment from the set.
i also added some buttons and twine this time.

just add ink #251 just add thank you

i immediately saw this as an opportunity to make a card i have been meaning to make for some time but never had the chance to do so

people often ask me where i get my inspiration for my punch art and i sometimes say the stamps from stampin up are really fun to transform

here is one of my all time favourites

a little smile
as a punch art card
the hedgehogs are made using the owl punch and i have frayed a ribbon for the spikes
i got to use my awesome fringe scissors for the grass and cut the thank you out by freehand
inside i stamped the hedgehogs and their banner and coloured them in with markers
aren't they just the cutest??!!!

enjoy!!

has finally ended here and we can sleep in again

as a thank you card for the girls to sign

dsp used in back to black.
netball girl was made using word window punch, 1"circle. tag punch, petit curly label and a scallop circle for the skirt.
hoop was a 1" circle inside a 11/4" circle
recipient was very happy with her card
she has done a fab job teaching our beginner netballers the ropes this year

geometric orange

orange is my favourite colour
just in case you hadn't gotten the hint
mwahahahahaha
so i have been playing with
loads of orange lately

here is my play on a sunburst pattern
with punched out circles and pearls and using a variety of su oranges
the circles are done by punching the smallest circle first and then punching the bigger one around it
just make sure you punch fast otherwise it may not like it very much
then i just added a sentiment
-any would do-
but this is for a thank you card for a friend

cards for special people

making a card on commission is always fun
i love the chance to make that one of a kind card that is specific for that person

this card is for a reading teacher
hence all the letters!!
she loves black and silver
and we needed a card that had space to write all the thank yous in it
i made a pocket card so that she can slip out the insert and read all the lovely messages inside it.
the card is from my stash which i bought when i was doing an alphabet album for my kids.
around it is some lovely whisper white all crimped up with some silvery bling on the edges
in the middle is some black ribbon and the sentiment.
the sentiment and its frame comes from the vintage labels (r) stamp set with a bit of bling there too!
behind it i added a decorative label x 3 in black, grey and white.
to top it off i added a small love heart button from my hoard of buttons :>

i just hope the recipient loves it

thank you

this week i started back at the coal face that is primary school teaching.
i am currently a relief on-call teacher so can go any where at any primary level on my work days.
it's all new teaching here in australia for me and it is a bit like being a beginning teacher again...
but with balls lol

my first school had the most friendliest office lady i have ever met
(you DO know they are the ones that REALLY run the school don't you??)
who patiently helped me fill in forms and talk to the tax department and fax pay forms
all with a smile, a sense of humour and a cheerful disposition.

so i thought that she needed a card from me

just add ink had a sketch challenge this week that i thought i would use to help make my thank you card.
it seemed to be perfect for what i wanted to achieve.
i used the sweet summer set from
sale-a-bration to get a vintagey-feel kind of card.
i got some confetti cardstock and some sahara sand ink to get my colours going and added some vintage lace and some copper wire for my bow and a tiny bit to the 3d butterfly. i added some tiny pearls to the top of the flower and gently sponged everything down.

i also did the inside to make it all look pretty too :>

must remember to send it off asap

thank you cards

this week i have been busy making thank you cards for a customer she gave me a limited colour palette to work with so they would complement her products. she also wanted them to be simple, original yet also traditional with plenty of texture and depth here's what i came up with i am not sure which one is my favourite but i quite like the last one with the 3d bird in the cage. i used some acetate to stamp the bird cage onto so i could attach it to the birdie and make it stand out better if you are a savvy su person you will also notice that most of my card sketches were cases from the latest sab catalogue lol although the one with the leaves paper from the autumn traditions dsp card and the dragonfly (nature's nest)one was an elite stampers challenge cheers ears!
