you are my sunshine....my only sunshine

it is raining where i live today
and my son is STILL home with the chicken pox
so i had to come and play in my craft room today
oh dear, how sad

for me today in the form of sunbursts

the card is a window card and i have cut the sun bursts out so you can see the clouds behind
i inked it up with a variety of yellow inks plus some pumpkin pie and poppy
inside i made the clouds using a scallop circle punch as a stencil and added a bit of feel good sentiment to the card
the circles are cut using the tiny circle punch and the cropadile

hope the recipient likes it when i send it to her

pocket card mini album

another idea popped into my head whilst i was making my huge pocket card for a scrapbooking page
what if i made a few of them and used them in a mini album as pages?
et voila!
here we are!
i used the cheerful treat dsp you can get with your hostess dollars
it is VERY pretty
here are the pages stuck together with the tab punch and ribbon on the pull out pages

and pretty flower using the flower folds die

so how do i make this you ask-eeeaaasssyyy!

take 4 pieces of 12x12 dsp, cut in half and fold in half.
cut off about 5cm from one end.
stick tape on sides and stick together

use craopadile to punch holes along bottom
add strip to top of shortest flap.
 add flowers to each page
make cover using a 30x17cm piece of paper.
cut in half and add to a 7cm strip of card which has been folded at 3cm and 4cm
decorate cover-i used flowers and lace ribbon border punch.

attach all the pages together with twine and stick to inside of cover with sticky strip
cut out an A4 piece of card into 4.
add a tab punch and ribbon to these and use these for your journalling and photos

clear as mud?
good :P
feel free to ask any questions given how awesome my intructions usually are rofl

on the twelth day of christmas the crafty cow made for me...

...a present for a girly girl!

i recently made this for a client who was turning 8.
she had booked a birthday party with me
and, as part of the service the lucky birthday girl gets a home made present from me.
this name banner was made with the lids off tin cans, some fabric flowers and ribbon from my stash and plenty of stampin up card and brads and my trusty crop-a-dile
i used the flower stamp from silhouette sentiments to stamp in silver around the card

the present also needed a gift bag.
i found this little treasure at my local mission australia op shop a few weeks ago
and knew it would be great for something later on lol
i made a mixture of purple acrylic paint and glitter and painted the box.
i added some island oasis paper to the middle bits and then some 5 petal flowers
i also added some diamantes to bling it up!
okies well that is my 12 days of christmas for you.
i hope you enjoyed looking at what i have been making the last few weeks in anticipation for christmas.there were also a few goodies that didn't make the cut and i will pop those into the blog over the next few days. please please PLEASE leave a comment if you coema dn have a look. it is really lovely readign your comments and to know that soemone somewhere is reading this apart from me rofl.

bird on a branch

going to watch the kids swim and do soccer training can make me itchy to do stuff
and i would prefer it not to be of the eating chocolate variety lol
so i take crafty stuff to do
one of the things i did last week was to take the bird punch and some scrap dsp and make these 3d birds from the 2-step bird punch
just make a couple of holes with a cropadile,
make little fans with the dsp
and poke the dsp through the hole
add fishing twine and dangle from a stick!
easy
cheap
and it looks really cool
on my dining table
and lasts longer than flowers lol
but sssh don't tell hubby or he will stop bringing me some!
