orange project life

project life rocks
it makes my scrapbooking so easy
i have to admit that i was reluctant at first but
now i have had a few plays i am getting more and more into it

here i used the everyday adventures set from stmapin up
i mixed a few things up, added some washi tape to the outside and made sure i did the obligatory journalling lol

geometric orange

orange is my favourite colour
just in case you hadn't gotten the hint
mwahahahahaha
so i have been playing with
loads of orange lately

here is my play on a sunburst pattern
with punched out circles and pearls and using a variety of su oranges
the circles are done by punching the smallest circle first and then punching the bigger one around it
just make sure you punch fast otherwise it may not like it very much
then i just added a sentiment
-any would do-
but this is for a thank you card for a friend

orange gratefulness

not my normal type of card
far too normal and classic for me lol

i used the leaves from the kinda ecletic stamp set with the hardwood stamp and the sentiment from the apothecary accents set.
lots of layering with dimensionals and punches and top note die
inside the card i echoed the theme from the front
i added the small flower punches to give it some layering.

orange poppies

i have seen a few building block cards
around and thought i
would have a play with them myself
as they seemed really cool....
and they are!
i made mine for my orange challenge
over at splitcoast stampers for their
mega august challenges and as a thank you
for a friend and family who looked after us like royalty when we visited them recently
i used the poppy parade stamp
and coloured it with my blendies
most of the building block cards i ahve seen
have got the tops covered but then they
wont fold down into an envelope so mine is bare for that reason-i needed to post it

here it is flat with the sentiment
and some extra buterflies to add some pop!
the back of the card is left relatively plain

hope my recipients like it

it's life jim but not as we know it

this month over at the creative crew
we were asked to embrace our white space!
to show monochromatic with white (or vanilla)
to any progressions of color
while showcasing the beauty of any image of our choice.

we were asked to do this in a scrapbooking sketch
i decided to graduate the arrows instead of colour.
i wanted to use a variety of arrows
of different sizes and shapes
like here i went from small to large
i also decided to use project life not as it is supposed to be used lol
my boy is awesome-no doubt about it :)

love u

this month over at the creative crew
we were asked to embrace our white space!
to show monochromatic with white (or vanilla)
to any progressions of color
while showcasing the beauty of any image of our choice.
this challenge we had to use ribbon or twine
so i decided to colour up some of the chevron ribbon with the new blendabilities but graduate the colours just like the pens
instead of using a stamp set i used the new accessories from the everyday adventure project life kit
not sure if you can see the graduation of colours that well

oh well

all you need is love

this month over at the creative crew
we were asked to embrace our white space!
to show monochromatic with white (or vanilla)
to any progressions of color
while showcasing the beauty of any image of our choice.
this challenge was to make a celebration card

i made a wedding anniversary card
although ti could also be used as a valentine's day or wedding card too i guess
i sponged lightest to darkest from the middle out in a variety of reds and pinks
i used the new alphabet photopolymer abc set
i added some of the new punched hearts in white

layers of butterflies

this month over at the creative crew
we were asked to embrace our white space!
to show monochromatic with white (or vanilla)
to any progressions of color
while showcasing the beauty of any image of our choice.

this card had to be a lightest to darkest theme and follow a sketch

i sued daffodil, pumpkin and red to make the effect.
i added a 3d butterfly to the layers
i amde my own stencil from the itty bitty butterfly punch and then sponged the inks onto the card.
i used the shiny side of the card that comes in the dsp packs as it is a bit glossier than other card we have.

love my mum

another inspired creation from pinterest
for the creative crew challenges this month
a holiday that we love using a new technique
i chose mother's day for my holiday as it is the one day in the year i get a holiday from the daily chores and get to be with my family and cherish what i have. it is also bittersweet as it also represents the things i don't have....my own mum...who passed away in 2008 and reminds me of how much i love and miss her
her face and hair are made using a circle punch with a circle for her bun too.
the garland is made using the blossom punch and cutting the petals up to use as hearts.
letters are from a new polymer set from the 2014/15 catalogue
inside the card i used leftovers to pretty it up
the technique i used was called the sanded pencil background
basically wet water colour paper and then sand your water colour pencils onto it using sandpaper
so easy and beautiful and fun
this is what it looked like wet

orange rose of victoria

i have just gotten back from the south pacific convention
and we were lucky enough to have a play
with the new blendabilities coming from stampin up
but also got a free stamp set and pens to play with
woohoo!
i love being a demo!!

so i decided to use my new goodies for a colour challenge
CCREW0614DF
using our favourite colour
mine is orange so these pens are pretty close
we were also encouraged to use our favourite colour
in a new colour combo
so i used a colour i don't like
(old olive) and soft suede

i also made a box card using the tutorial from split coast stampers which was easy to follow
i made mine with naturals specialty card which made it quite chunky and hard to fold
....just so you know lolol
firstly i stamped the flower using versamark and black embossing powder
(although there will be a momento black ink especially for this purpose very soon)
i coloured in the new flower stamp from the 14/15 catalogue using the new blendabilities we got
i started using the lightest one first and then got darker and darker
around the edges i used normal pumpkin and caramel markers and then added some crystal effects
inside the box/card i used some watercolour wonder dsp and a stamp from a new stamp set
this was sent to a friend for her birthday

i love butterflies

this month for the creative crew
i was inspired by a beautiful picture
to make something similar in punch art
using the theme of your
favourite product from the catalogue

mine, of course, are the punches!!!!

i used watercolour pencils for the background on water colour paper then added the other elements.
not entirely convinced about the face
but this is my third attempt at a face so i have left it now lolol
the grass was made using a stamp from gorgeous grunge and about five different colours of green and one brown and then i cut the edges with my fringe scissors
hands were made from the bird punch-the branch part.
butterflies are the bitty butterfly with dazzling details

toilet paper roll mini album

in our house the toilet rolls tend to get used up rather quickly as binoculars, puppets or cat toys...
so i was lucky to snaffle these ones away before the calves got into them

a creative crew challenge this month was to make a mini album using toilet rolls
an idea i found a bit weird but tried anyways lol
you need toilet rolls and them you have to squash them flat
i used a bone folder to get them extra flat as they were surprisingly springy
then i prettied them up wiht high tide dsp from the seasonal catalogue.
a couple of the sheets are these very cool ships in a bottle designs which i used as the inserts for the album which i tied around the neck with twine
they were glued to a piece of card to go inside the roll.

i went down to my local officeworks and got our holiday photo printed up as passport photo size
i stuck the photos down and added a variety of small design elements using scallop border punch, hexagon punch and small strips of card.

i also cut out design elements from the dsp to add to the mini album pages

we had such a lovely fantastic time at the shack with our friend joy that this mini album will be a treasure to keep
