all you need is love

this month over at the creative crew
we were asked to embrace our white space!
to show monochromatic with white (or vanilla)
to any progressions of color
while showcasing the beauty of any image of our choice.
this challenge was to make a celebration card

i made a wedding anniversary card
although ti could also be used as a valentine's day or wedding card too i guess
i sponged lightest to darkest from the middle out in a variety of reds and pinks
i used the new alphabet photopolymer abc set
i added some of the new punched hearts in white

love my mum

another inspired creation from pinterest
for the creative crew challenges this month
a holiday that we love using a new technique
i chose mother's day for my holiday as it is the one day in the year i get a holiday from the daily chores and get to be with my family and cherish what i have. it is also bittersweet as it also represents the things i don't have....my own mum...who passed away in 2008 and reminds me of how much i love and miss her
her face and hair are made using a circle punch with a circle for her bun too.
the garland is made using the blossom punch and cutting the petals up to use as hearts.
letters are from a new polymer set from the 2014/15 catalogue
inside the card i used leftovers to pretty it up
the technique i used was called the sanded pencil background
basically wet water colour paper and then sand your water colour pencils onto it using sandpaper
so easy and beautiful and fun
this is what it looked like wet

water colour love

i am having laods of fun playing with the sanded pencil technique
this involves using my water colour pencils
and softly rubbing them against sand paper
to produce a fine coloured dust
that gets moved over wet water colour paper.
i made this card today using that technique and inspired by a challenge over at just add ink to use watercolours
it is made using the square punch and the corner punch mainly
with the heart from the owl punch
and the love die from the embellishments framelits.
can you see the cool texture that the dust particles leave on the paper?

keep your eyes peeled for another card coming soon using the same technique

yoda...the jedi of love

i have to admit

perfect couple of love birds

love is in the air
and one way to say happy anniversary to the one who has your heart
is through a mushy card :>
there are other things but this is a g rated blog lmao

 crystal effects on the hearts
hand drawn details on the birds

birds made by cutting a mosaic punch in half  and snipping of the sticky out bits
banner at top was made by cutting a triangle punch into quarters
drew on banner with pen to decorate plus some dazzling details
sentiment card was made by sticking end into mosaic punch
and then i made 5 more!

card swaps are fun!
one of my favourite things about being a demo is the sharing of ideas and getting inspired by other creative peeps:>

wedding card

 love is in the air
quite a few people i know are getting married at the moment
it is quite lovely
so here is a take on a card i saw ages ago and liked and wanted to make
(but can't remember the source sorry if it is yours-please let me know)

loads of little itty bitty punches and pearls
(apart from the one in the front there the rest of them are in the middle of the flower lolololol)
i used the thinlits words, large scallop punch and the leaves die to get my card done.

party in a jar!

woohoo! party in a jar! woohoo!
trying to reclaim my mojo which had gone and hidden in a dark corner of my craft space under a pile of scrap paper
i need to find it fast because the hummingbird craft markets are coming up quick and i have to be organised!!

so here is something you can come along and buy from me
it is a packet of 12 cupcake toppers and a small banner
and they all fit in nicely to a decorated jar

several things on the go

i am creatively busy at the moment trying to try new things and play with the stash that i have. thankfully i have homes for most of them which helps hey? anyways here is a selection enjoy! this is my entry for the essential baby card swap. the theme was love so i got out all my heart stamps and went a bit berko on the card and then punched images out with a 1 1/4" circle punch here i had some fun with my one of a kind stamp set and used my cuttlebug to add some swirls more cuttlebug here but stuck to a scallop note card. the stamp is from a sale-a-bration set called happy moments some punk rock emo chick stickers (lol) stuck to card stock with ribbon and such stuff. sssssssshhhhh but i used some hero arts stamps. aren't these little christmas girls just the cutest? some thank you cards for a customer using nature's nest stamp set a thinking of you card using trendy trees.... man oh man my stamp-a-ma-jig got a workout!!!! three little words stamp set. a set i find a bit tricky to use but have copied an idea from the ib&c and quite like it okies time for bed cheers ears!
