nana cards?

i made these the other day and my kids wanted to know why i was making some nana cards lol

 not so fussy cutting around the giant flowers in the latest dsp
 and a real nana having a nice cuppa

i may have a problem.....

....and it is NOT the over supply of stampin up stash waiting to be played with in my cupboards
no no
of course not that!!!

it may just be my over use of the card in a box design

i just love it!!!!
i was having a play with the acorn punch from stampin up and really needed to make other stuff with it to justify to myself buying it.
this cute dog was one of the cool things i have made-keep tuned for some others
then i added him to a card in a box with some grass cut from my fringe scissors

bob the builder card in a box

 not often i get asked to make a bob the builder card for a 40 year old!!!!
yes you read it right.
this one is a card in a box

 i added the letters to a window sheet so that they stand out
 the envelope to match it
 patterns on the shirt were drawn on with pen
 bob was made using punch art-circle punches and flowers for the hands
 side on view showing the layers

hope the birthday boy or should i say man, likes it

stampin up convention 2015

south pacific stampin up convention 2015
was awesome!

i survived a flight across the ditch (aka the tasman sea)
anda loooooong trip north from sydney to arrive at the gold coast.
here a few highlights from days 1 and 2

 byron bay lighthouse
 byron bay
 north coast
 arrows swaps
heart punch and fringe scissors and thin treat bag-VERY easy
 adventure time swaps-finn the human
xl oval punch and cupcake (eyes) and small oval and rotary stamp

butterfly swap-smushing technique lol
pat ink pads onto a glass surface, spritz with water and splodge paper over top
easy
 chocolate kiwis-treat thinlit die with kiwi










peg swap-dsp stuck onto wooden pegs with a butterfly punch and diamantes-super simple
i also made paddington bears swaps designed on a previous post-see here

cricket world cup card

it has been world cup cricket fever here in our house over the last few weeks and although the kiwis didn't win i am ever so proud that they amde it to the finals and played liek gentlemen-the kind of sportsmen i want my kids to look up to.

in honour of that i made this cricket themed card in a box

 it is using a retired set called just cricket
i coloured in the bats with watercolour ink and fussy cut them out.
grass was done using the fringe scissors

hungry book monsters

these guys were so cute and easy to make!

cut out a 6cm square
cut in half to make 2 triangles
stick one triangle to the back with dimensionals
cut out a 5.5cm square
stick inside
addd teeth and eyes using triangle adn circle punches
i also added some eyelashes (fringe scissors) and tongues (fussy cut)

om nom nom nom nom
i thought this year's sale-a-bration stuff was delicious too!!

this one was inspired by some die cut leaves i had in my scrap box
and a pile of dsp i hadn't used in a loooong time lol

the hello was done with die cut letters stuck to a window sheet

sailing away


another card in a box with a sailing theme
i have been making a few of these for the palmerston north night markets
i have a stall there
plenty of fussy cutting here and the yauchts were coloured using black stazon and an aqua painter with the ink from the lids of the ink pads.

surfing adventure

so this summer i have spent an awful amount of time sitting in the glorious sunshine watchimg the kids swimming at the school pool or the free park pool
i thought it was a good time to finally cut out all those pre-stamped images i had and do 'something' with them!


here is a stamp from a retired set called extreme surfer (i think?) with the phrase from the retired sail away set (not sure?).
i used a retired dsp called high tide (methinks!)
