autumn card in a box

another card in a box!
i am going with a theme here can you tell?

this one was inspired by some die cut leaves i had in my scrap box
and a pile of dsp i hadn't used in a loooong time lol

the hello was done with die cut letters stuck to a window sheet

autumn card

soooo not my colours but i love a challenge :)

with all those autumnly colours i thought why not a autumn card
using a leaf die i have had sitting around for just such an occasion
i placed them in a card in a box to get a 3d effect

i sponged the outside using a stencil from the sheet of card that i cut the leaves from
to make the coloured card i inked up a glass mat with the challenge colours,
spritzed it with water to smoosh it all together
and then laid the paper on top of it.
i dried it quickly with a heat gun
and then die cut what i needed out of the sheets

a home amongst the gum trees

Give me a home among the gum trees
with lots of plum trees, a sheep or two, a kangaroo
a clothes line out the back, verandah out the front
and an old rocking chair

a great aussie song
one i thought i would try and imitate via stamping, punch art and collage.
this is a 3d version i thought i would have a try at.
i used the natural composition paper as the base then added leaves die cut from dsp
house is stamped using the hardwood stamp with a roof from the hexagon embossing folder
swing is a retired stamp set called summer afternoon and cat and dog are from cool kid set
not sure it works but it was fun to make!

gum trees and flowers

when i moved to sydney the first thing that struck me was how many gum trees there were loads and loads of different varieties and colours and textures. it was one of the things that reminded me that i had indeed moved countries and i no longer saw sparrows and black birds in the trees but cockatoos and lorikeets!!! this month i am doing a card swap with the ladies from essential baby. this month we had to use a scallop circle, have a wild animal and use green.
i am not sure the ladybug quite cuts the mustard on the whole wild animal thing but she is soooo darn cute sitting on the leaf that i just couldn't not put her in the flower was inspired by valita's take on fushias which i have converted to a gum flower
the scallop circle is embossed using the big shot. the leaves are from the leaves die cut for the big shot too. inks are earth elements cheers ears
