here is the sketch and inspiration for this weeks challenge

here is my take on this months sketch

i love a bit of colour in my cards

(actually it should really be LOVE!!)

so i couldn't resist adding a bit to this sketch

even though i tried to be more subtle by using watercolour pencils 

 to make my card i used a hexagon punch as a stencil and drew the shapes onto watercolour paper.

then i coloured them in with watercolour pencils-a different colour per hexagon

and used an aqua painter to blend them together.

to make the lines i used stampin up's rows of tiny pearls

the butterfly was made using the swallowtail stamp and stamping with versamark onto vellum and then embossing with white embossing powder.

all i did next was punch out the middle of the butterfly, added some glitter, bling and silver cord

purple masculine card

let's face it

men's cards are quite tricky to get just right

not too girly

not too lame

and, for me, not too stereotypical.

i wanted a card that could be given to any man 

whether they are geeks, 

sports mad, 

retired or rev heads lol

easy....lol

not quite

but i think i may have got it with this one

 this card uses a new stamp set in the 2014/15 stampin up catalogue that goes live next month 

 a close up to see the layering on the card
