just add ink #249 just add sketch

wow!
this is pretty cool!
a guest designer for february at just add ink!!

welcome welcome welcome
here is the sketch and inspiration for this weeks challenge
here is my take on this months sketch
i love a bit of colour in my cards
(actually it should really be LOVE!!)
so i couldn't resist adding a bit to this sketch
even though i tried to be more subtle by using watercolour pencils
to make my card i used a hexagon punch as a stencil and drew the shapes onto watercolour paper.
then i coloured them in with watercolour pencils-a different colour per hexagon
and used an aqua painter to blend them together.
to make the lines i used stampin up's rows of tiny pearls
the butterfly was made using the swallowtail stamp and stamping with versamark onto vellum and then embossing with white embossing powder.
all i did next was punch out the middle of the butterfly, added some glitter, bling and silver cord

hope you like
and see you next week!!!!

rainbow dreams

i love rainbows
they are something very special

here's card i made based on a sketch challenge from retro sketches

i used my aqua painter to paint the rainbow using a variety of su inks onto whisper white
i also coloured the background with the aqua painter too and stamped the love hearts from million dollar moments
the bows on the kite tail are made from the triangle punch
clouds are made with whisper white covered with coffee filter paper covered with crystal effects and glitter
kite is made using the triangle punch

hope it lifts your spirits to face the world today

RAINBOW BIRTHDAY PARTY

it is a birthday week here at our place
it is the big 6
and missy moo wanted a rainbow unicorn birthday party

i started dying 12x12 white cardstock with su re-inkers
wooooo what a blast of colour that was-my finger tips are still recovering 3 days later lol

cut them up via a su rosette die and then cut the die in half longways to make thinner rosttes
stuck them together

made a rosette out of the strips using some hot glue
made a lot actually. from the die and 4 sheets of card i made 8 x13cm diameter sized rosettes
added the unicorns a fab friend cut out for me via her new cool machine (i want one)
then added it to the banner i had made from the simply created banner kit from su
and here it is all made up and rainbow-ey
from the left overs i made the cupcake toppers using the same picture we had used for the invites
party bags were easy-just a white sandwich bag with different rainbow colours wheeled across it
inside is a rainbow necklace, rainbow eraser, pencil, rainbow lollies, a badge and a party popper

 here is the birthday cake.
chocolate, of course lol
 plenty of rainbow party food
coloured popcorn, fruit platter, vege platter, rice bubble bars, ice cream cupcakes, sausage rolls, sour worms, smarties
and my beautiful party girl
