flower fairy

miss 3 turns four next month so i am getting in early for her birthday card
because knowing me i will forget about it
and be up doing it the night before with pink sticky cake icing all over my fingers...
you know how it is!!!
my fairy card was made using the blossoms petal builder.
i used it 'normally' for the flower building up the petals on the flower from
the different petals you can punch out.
i also used it to make the fairy with her dress and wings
the fairy's dress was made from 2 of the large petals with some scoring and sponging to give it definition. her wings were made from the rest of the petals and they were scored and sponged too. i added some arms and hair using the bird punch and the 1/2" circle for her head.
and of course, i added the obligatory fairy glitter to her :>
the flower was very simple to do.
i just punched out 6 shapes out of pink pirouette card.
then i scored the lines into each petal and then sponged with melon.
again i had to add an obligatory pearl and glitter to that so it didn't look plain next to the fairy....
excuses excuses...i know...who needs excuses for bling right?!!
after all, the recipient is a four year girly girl lol who i know her first reaction will be "oooo sparkley"
this card was an easel card so i added some much needed ribbon to the end as i had run out of room...cough cough...ahem....on the card...and it still needed 'something'.

so hopefully you will get another use out of your blossom petal punch from that!!

easel card with a drawer

when making my easel card for my swap challenge i wondered how cool it would be to make it into something useful i have seen so many lovely easel cards that have had little drawers of some form of another added to it so i thought i would try one too.
mine only has one drawer. i have seen some with four small drawers and some with 2 long ones. the drawer was simple to make just a strip around and a box lid find any matchbox template on the www and that'll do you!
here is a side view
and one with the drawer out. i put a brad on the drawer to make it easier to pull out okies all done cheers ears

elite challenges for may

every month the elite stampers have a couple of challenges set by the ever lovely carol and i always fail epicly at getting them done however this month i seem to have done them-woot! go me!
first is a sketch challenge thought i might use some only orange and the "that's funny" stamp set and turn it ito an easel card next was a colour challenge-razzleberry, baja, not quite navy and artichoke thought i would be a bit different and make a cute little back pack bag the little button were made using the cool button die template can be found here the final challenge was to use the medallion stamp which is just so so so so cool and i think i want to marry it and have it's babies (note to self: ask steve first) here i used gold embossing powder and lightened up the background with a bit of white and added a build-a-brad okies-leave a comment to say hi cheers ears

post convention creative streak happening

i love going to convention and being enthused by all the wonderful ideas and creations then i come home and reality bites and there aree not enough hours in the day to make all those things you want especially with 4 kids wanting "help" you and watch every move you make although having the cheer squad is quite nice for the ego lol here is a go at an easel card. totally cased from zindorf but iam in a swap atm that needs to be an easel card with a grid technique and masculine if possible -a big ask and quite an intriguing one i am finding ben has a 6 year old birthdya party to attend this weekend so here is the card. the party boy is getting 3 canvas pictures based on space-just got to get it done lol its funny the people you meet at convention. i sat and chattted to katrina over lunch who is the president of the australian sumo federation. she was really fascinating and very passionate about her sport. she told me what she did and i told her what i did. then i offered to make her a card so here is the punch art sumo i amde. inside the card i used the phrase from inspired by nature as she is so passionate about her sport next i ahd a play with 3d flowers this was made from the small oval punch the bad part is that it is waaaay too heavy for the box i originally made it for lol finally a case from a card we were shown at convention using the circle scissors this is thank you card for my friends who lent me some stamp sets to finish my swaps. don't forget to say hi cheers ears
