wow!
this is pretty cool!
a guest designer for february at just add ink!!
welcome welcome welcome
here is my take on this months sketch
i love a bit of colour in my cards
(actually it should really be LOVE!!)
so i couldn't resist adding a bit to this sketch
even though i tried to be more subtle by using watercolour pencils
to make my card i used a hexagon punch as a stencil and drew the shapes onto watercolour paper.
then i coloured them in with watercolour pencils-a different colour per hexagon
and used an aqua painter to blend them together.
to make the lines i used stampin up's rows of tiny pearls
the butterfly was made using the swallowtail stamp and stamping with versamark onto vellum and then embossing with white embossing powder.
all i did next was punch out the middle of the butterfly, added some glitter, bling and silver cord
hope you like
and see you next week!!!!
cheers ears

Oh I most definitely like it Claire! Playing with watercolour has been a favourite technique for me recently and I love your idea of a rainbow of coloured hexagons. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your Feb projects :)
Love your vibrant water coloured hexagons Claire! And such a fabulous idea to punch out the middle of the Swallowtail - I must try that! Looking forward to seeing your next creations :-)

Just gorgeous Clare! Im just so excited you having this experience. You rock!
Hi Clare. Thanks for your comments on my entry at JAI. I'm just so happy to meet up with another New Zealander who likes to blog and stamp! And to find one who actually used to live where I live - even better! Love your Doctor Who cards - we're great fans at my place too.
Such a great idea to use the watercolour pencils - such a good effect!
Congrats on being GD this month!! Your card is fantastic and I love all that colour. The butterfly you created is incredible, especially the glitter on the wings. Must give this a go!!
Love your rainbow of hexagons & beautiful butterfly, Clare. Brilliant take on the sketch. So glad you're a guest designer this month.
Inky wishes, Di
Lovely to have you join us this month Clare. Gorgeous card, loving all that pretty colour - nice addition of pearls too (you'll notice I missed that little detail in my own card - ooops). x
