loooooong time-no post

Yeah well sorry about that. Blame mr flickr and our computer for that one. I have been having some issues with uploading my photos onto flickr but they are all good now so I will post quite often now seeing I have a few things to show :> But then I just realised whilst trying to get these photos uploaded that I actually don't need to flickr...duh...excuse me while I go and find my brain wont you? :>
As you might have guessed Christmas is approaching far too fast for this Crafty Cow's liking as I try and finish all those things I promised to make for people and attempt to start something for xmas. I am sure a few of you (whoever is reading this-is there actually anyone reading my ramblings?? haha) are probably in the same boat and slowly starting to stress out about all the oodles of things you want and need to get done before you sit down and relax after the Christmas BBQ aftermath.
As I said in a previous post I have been part of a Christmas tag swap with my fellow card makers over at Essential Baby. The extra challenge was embossing...YAHOO!!!! So I set to work with my mighty Cuttlebug only to break it...sob sob sob...oh woe is me. SOOOOO I got out my heat gun and embossing powder and made the two tags you see here-merry snowman and christmas baubles. Anyways I am off to play with my Stampin Up friends this weekend...a whole Saturday away from family and stamping...aaaahhhh bliss! If you want to come and join me please contact either Kim http://www.kimtonnet.blogspot.com/ or Michelle http://www.stampinkpaper.blogspot.com/. We will be doing some inspiring Christmassy things as well as our usual amazing stuff hahahahaha! Cheers ears Don't have a cow, man. Matt Groening

school holiday fun

Well... my day at Camden library was great. I had a ball and I suspect that the kids (and a few mums that joined in!!) enjoyed themselves too. Everyone listened really well to the instructions and managed to make some really fabulous creations. It was pretty relaxed and it was great showing these talented little chooks some neat ideas. The paperclips are an idea I showed them . Just a really simple but effective way to put embellishments on your page that match your paper and card. Some of the girls had a bit of a factory line going so they could have about a zillion in their albums!!!! Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I was asked by Staci the youth librarian at Narellan if I was keen to do a scrapbooking session during the school holidays at Camden Library. With butterflies in my stomach I said yeah sure... So then I went into create mode thinking up something that was easy, quick and, of course, funky and cool-a important prerequisite when dealing with teenagers for sure! and this is what I made as my sample. I got the idea from my esteemed team leader Jayne Mercer when she showed us how to make these easy mini albums during our retreat up in Vision Valley. It is a mini album with hidden tags inside it-so vey very funky and cool! They are only 12x12 papers folded into the middle and taped up and holes punched in the end. Then a peice of card is added to the middle with a tag. The whole thing is then tied together with ribbon and decorated with photos, embellishemnts and journalling. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!!!! Cheers ears Opie, you haven't finished your milk. We can't put it back in the cow, you know.

tag.......... you're it!!

I am part of a Christmas tag swap and have been having some fun making these little cuties. So easy and so much fun. I started off with the traditional colours but then branched out to pink...well being a girl and all...gotta have some pink...oh and some bling too :> cheers ears There's something about getting up at 5 a.m., feeding the stock and chickens, and milking a couple of cows before breakfast that gives you a lifelong respect for the price of butter and eggs. ~Bill Vaughan

i am on a roll...

because I have so much stuff that I uploaded onto the computer so I must I must I MUST get it all out on the blog. So here it is... Buckle Cards...I know I know...hold back the excitement hahahaha. I was asked by a friend the other day to do some 'different' cards at ehr workshop-not the boring 'fold-in=half' ones that predominate card making....so I went on an extensive resource and development drive i.e. searched my 2 favourite sites and found a whole heap of ideas and inspiration from a whole heap of talented ladies. If you are interested they are: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com and http://www.twopeasinabucket.com I wanted to use my Festive Favourites stamp set in a new a different way for my xmas cards and to show off during workshops as it is a cool and flexible set. I also had a huge urge to use some dazzling diamonds (no surprise there huh!?) for some bling. I also managed to scrounge some tinsel from the xmas box :>. The paper I used was from the Holiday Harmony designer series paper combined with some Purely Pomengranate card.
